Ranking Tutorial
"A study on what the ranks are, what they do, and how they affect you."
I. Introduction to the ranking system.
1.) The following is an explanation on ranks. It is strongly recommended that all Hunters know and memorize this, for it affects everyone in an either direct or indirect manner.
II. What are ranks
1.) Ranks are generally a summary of your minimum ability. It is a sort of certificate declaring immediately to all Hunters exactly what you are capable of, and the responsibilities that the unit has entrusted to lay down on you.
a.) Often times, ranks are mistaken for member value. THIS IS NOT TRUE. EACH HUNTER IS VALUED EQUALLY (Unless you are completely retarded, in which case you will recieve a rank to reflect that, I.E. Janitor.) Keep in mind that your rank is a merit of your capability, not membership value.
III. Reavers and Classmen
1.) Generally, the ranks can be split into two sections. The Reavers, and the Classmen. Further classification is done by "Castes". (View the tutorial on "Castes" for more details.)
2.) Classmen are generally combat-related ranks. They are the frontlines of battle, and the body of people which forms the Hunter militia. They do most of the ground work; member relations, battle strategies, enforcing orders from up above, and generally serving the Kiith-Sa on an individual basis. (Whether that be in battle against an enemy, or helping one another become stronger, or better in general.)
3.) For Reavers, a rank is a symbol of authority. They are here to serve the Kiith-Sa as a whole, not individually. They will do what is in the best interest of the unit, without biased judgement. Reavers are the eye in the sky that helps Classmen organize. (i.e., If a Reaver gives an order to a classmen, it is to be completed without question until the task is over.)
a.) Reavers ARE the managers of this unit, each with his/her specific task. Reavers have this rank to better serve the Hunters. Thier judgement is trusted and they are supported by the Khan and Sa-Khan of the unit.
b.) If a Reaver fails to serve the unit, or that trusted judgement is betrayed (through acts of corruption or abhorrent behaviour), and it is reported, actions will be taken to strip him/her of his/her rank.
4.) The only time a classmen may evade an order is when the Classmen is a conscientious objector to that order due to the nature of the order itself, or Reaver making the order is doing it out of personal bias, or it is a malicious display of abhorrent behaviour. If the Reaver takes action against the Classmen under such circumstances, the Classmen may seek a higher authority to deal with that particular issue, or request an override on that particular punishment.
IV. The rank structure breakdown
Soulforge Reaver (Guild Master)
The Soul Reaver is the number one man in charge. He is responsible for the overall management of the Kiith-Sa, and its most important dependant. Any order given by the Soulforge Reaver that is not followed will lead to immediate termination without question. At the same time, He can also resolve the most difficult issues you may have. He is in charge at all times despite the presence of any other Reaver.
The Soulforge Reaver's word overrides that of any other Hunter, or Reaver.
--------------
Phantom Reaver (Guild Master)
The Phantom Reaver is second only to the Soulforge Reaver. His active duties are on the same page as his higher counter-part. He can do absolutely anything that needs to be done in this unit. He is charge at all times, whether other Reavers are present or not. Disavowing an order from the Phantom Reaver is grounds for immediate termination without question.
The Phantom Reaver's word overrides that of any other Hunter or Reaver, save the Soulforge Reaver himself.
--------------
Blood Reaver (Guild Lord)
Blood Reavers are like the managers of the Kiith-Sa. They can do just about everything that Phantoms and Soulforge Reavers can. They are the people you should go to with large problems, if your direct leader (Archon or Nightmare Reaver) cannot help.
The word of a Blood Reaver is to be followed unless instructed otherwise by a Soulforge or Phantom Reaver. Failure to do so without authority can/will lead to immediate termination without question.
--------------
Nightmare Reaver (Division Overlord)
Nightmare Reavers are the top dogs of a division. Everyone in that specific division must answer to the Nightmare Reaver. All large decisions concerning that specific division are to go through the Nightmare Reaver before coming into play.
The Nightmare Reaver calls all the shots for a division, unless a higher Reaver steps in and says otherwise.
--------------
Archon Reaver (Division Leader)
Archon Reavers are the Hunters who have been trusted with the responsibility of leading a specific division/sector. They are responsible for the organization, recruiting, and overall upkeep of their division. As the Archon position is division-specific, the authority of the Archon does not apply to any division but his own. While in any other division, the Archon is to be considered a Virage Reaver. The Archon plays a key role in the decisions made in his/her specific division.
Any Hunter participating in a division is to follow the word of that division's Archon, unless specifically instructed otherwise by a higher Reaver.
--------------
Virage Reaver (Rule Enforcer)
The Virage Reaver's primary job is to enforce each and every rule of the Kiith-Sa, and of the division they are active on. Virage Reavers should know the rules just as well as higher Reavers. Virage Reavers also assist the Archon and Nightmare Reavers of the division they are active in, by doing whatever they assign the Virage Reaver.
Virage Reavers make sure that classmen, riots, and janitors abide by the rules. Their word is to be followed at all times unless a given authority otherwise by a higher Reaver.
--------------
Zealot (Veteran Member)
A Zealot is a Veteran Member of the Kiith-Sa in training for Virage Reaver and an exemplary Hunter on all fronts. He has been recognized by the Sa-Khan Caste as a truly noteworthy Hunter. His primary job is to set a good example for Classmen and Riots to follow while learning how to properly execute a position of leadership within the unit.
Zealots have no direct command or authority to issue orders, but take their suggestions and advice; if someone is a Zealot, they know what they are doing.
--------------
Risk Breaker (Champion)
A Risk Breaker is our Champion Fighter, the best of the best, a force to be reckoned with. The Risk Breaker has been recognized by the Kiith as the best in his division. Each division has a different way of determining a Risk Breaker, and it is solely a combat rank, however, it is not to be taken lightly.
The Risk Breaker's primary job is to kick ass and take names, showing any and all non-Hunters who oppose us the might of the Kiith.
-------------
Hunter (Dragoon)
A Hunter of the Dragoon Caste is a 1st or 2nd class Hunter. He has been ranked up to this level either through ToP's or by showing Reavers his strength as a Warrior. A
Dragoon respresents an "Enlightened Warrior" of the Kiith-Sa.
A Hunter's job is to contribute to the Kiith whenever possible, and be a good member of our family.
--------------
Newblood (Brood)
A Hunter of the Brood Caste is a 3rd or 4th class Hunter (note that the Risk Breaker is also of the Brood Caste, but for reasons other than inexperience). A Hunter of this Caste is not yet an amazing combatant, but his mind is focused solely on his bloodthirst.
A Brood Caste Hunter's job is the same as his higher ranked counterpart, to contribute to the Kiith whenever possible, and be a good member of our family.
--------------
Riot (Cadet)
A Riot is a brand new member to the Kiith, still on a Trial Phase. Riots were chosen are possible Hunters, but we still need a bit of time to get a feel for their personality, mentality, and skills.
A Riot's job is simple, get to know the rest of the Kiith and help us get to know you.
--------------
Janitor (Dezgra)
Janitors are of the Dezgra Caste, a term meaning "Disgrace"; in one form or another they have brought shame to themselves and are trying to restore themselves to their former glory.
A Janitor's job is to not screw up again until we have seen that they are truly changed from their past self.
