joining Tutorial

I. Introduction to the Kiith-Sa; 1.) Kiith-Sa Hunter is not your ordinary clan or guild. We are a Kiith, which easily translates into the word 'Family'. Our members come from all over the world. The unit is extremely organized and professional, and we have a responsible and well thought-out chain of command. With that said, we are able to do things other guilds or clans cannot; and that's what separates us from the rest of 'em. II. How to join; 1.) If you are interested in joining Kiith-Sa Hunter, you should find and contact an Archon Reaver (division leader) in order to be recruited. Another method is to fill out the application available on the right-hand side of the screen, and submit it for review. (Note: Being active on a game is NOT a requirement to joining.) You can find Archon Reavers on any of our official divisions. a.) Those who wish to join the Kiith should keep in mind that above most qualities, Reavers (the leaders of the Kiith-Sa) value loyalty and honesty. b.) Be advised that the recruitment process takes as long as it needs to. We can spend days, weeks, or even up to months screening a potential recruit. In order to ensure that we don't waste our time or yours, try to get as much involvement with the unit as you can before you attempt to join. Participating in activities with us adds haste to our decision making process, as it takes much of the guess work out of learning your person. III. What kinds of rules are enforced; 1.) Hunters often refer to the primary rules of a division as "Protocol". Protocol varies for each division (since no game is the same), so the Archon Reaver (or whoever recruits you) should explain to you what the protocol for that division is. Typically though, protocol will consist of a certain combination of clothes you can wear, and what your display name should look like. a.) Example(s): On World of Warcraft, you must wear a colored shirt (defined by your rank), as well as your guild tabard on at all times, and although Ventrilo is not required, you will be encouraged to be on Ventrilo whenever you are on online. 2.) No matter what game, prgram, or website you are on, you should always represent the Kiith. If you cannot have "Hunter" in your name, try to have "MHX" or some derivitive of the Kiith name present within your online handle. a.) Example(s): "Constaunt Hunter", "MHX-Constaunt", "ConstauntHunter". 3.) As was mentioned earlier, Reavers are what would be considered the officers of the unit. Please respect and listen to the Reavers at all times, who in turn will respect you and give you fair treatment. Let it also be known that Reavers typically have the final say in things, and that the highest ranking Reaver has final say on all matters. a.) If a Reaver is found to have abused his or her power, they will be reprimanded for their actions. b.) Respect with Reavers is mutual, coming from the heart of our eye-for-an-eye policy, if you are cooperative and responsive with a Reaver, they will do anything they can to resolve your issue; if you are stubborn and difficult when dealing with a Reaver, they will probablly feel less inclined to help you out. IV. Proper Name; 1.) When you join, you should have an appropriate hunter name ready. An appropriate hunter name would include the following qualities. a.) Originality, don't pick a name that is from a game, or that you got from somebody else. Make your own name, and make it sound of Hunter quality. (Example(s): Constaunt, Xestodin, Xapewaio, Xeltenia, Barone, Raeya, etc.) b.) Names should have only one capital letter, and be one word long. Notice in the list of examples given above, you see no two-word names, and they all have one capital letter. (Examples of improper names would be; Frogman, Ludwin23, Von Cooper, Ursocool, CloudStrife.) V. What you need to sign up on; 1.) Aside from division specific requirements, there are only two major requirements you will need to complete upon completing the "Riot" phase of your membership. a.) Sign up on msn, and get MSN messenger. The proper format is for your new Hunter email is NameHunter@msn.com (Example: ConstauntHunter@msn.com). If the email account you request has already been taken, then your name is probably not very original, and needs to be changed to something that is. b.) Sign up on this site (http://mhx.moonfruit.com), by clicking on "Join This Site", which can be found on the informational tool bar at the top of this site. The proper format for registering on this site is HunterName. (Example: HunterConstaunt) VI. What to keep up with; 1.) As a Hunter, you will be expected to check each Comlink (Hunter forum) daily, and to be on MSN whenever you're online. It is the Archon's (or whoever recruited you) responsibility to see to it that this happens, so be as good to your Reaver as he was with you, and make both yourself and him look good by doing it. Remember, the Comlinks exist to keep you informed; they are news sources. A true Hunter never misses a beat. VII. What to Expect; 1.) Eye for an Eye: You may find that we seem harsh at times, but we will not go out of our way to be jerks to those who have not warranted it. If you dick a Hunter, a Hunter will dick you back - if you are kind to us, you will find that we are kind to you. It's very simple, and we hold to this policy quite firmly. 2.) The Community: Although it can't really be defined in a paragraph, understand that our fun is usually very vulgar even though no one is trying to seriously hurt anyone. No topic is taboo to us, you don't have to watch your back here. We aren't going to call the ACLU on you. On the other hand, if you have a weak stomach, are self-righteous, or are offended easily, we may not be the ideal unit for you. We're here for fun, whatever its form. 3.) Honesty: Honesty really IS the best policy, if you make a mistake here: admit it. The unit as a whole will respect you more for making a mistake and admitting to it, than denying it to maintain a "spotless reputation". If you make a Reaver dig and claw for the truth, you're in for a lot worse than admitting it and moving on. The saying "It's never the crime, it's always the cover-up" applies here.
